Local artist, Joyce Teat Dalto, was born and raised in Millington, Maryland. She currently resides with her husband in Chestertown, on Maryland’s Eastern Shore of The Chesapeake Bay.  Joyce is a self-taught artist with more than 20 years of painting as a hobby.  She enjoyed the pleasure of being influenced by a local group of professional artists, and over the course of seven years of weekly encounters, their mentorship helped to expand her talents, her skills, and her horizons. Joyce began her professional career as a painter of people, animals, and landscapes in 2012. She has created several commissioned portraits and displayed several paintings in exhibitions in local Eastern Shore galleries.  Joyce’s inspiration comes from her family and the sites and pleasures of Maryland’s Eastern Shore – the ocean, the bay, rivers and creeks, crabs, birds, wildlife, farmlands, and farm animals.  Her most satisfying works have been of people, pet portraits and landscapes.  Joyce enjoys painting colorful whimsical images, and through her paintings she loves to bring vivid colors to anything ordinary.
